DAZZLE WALK
I am leading a Dazzle Walk in Devonport, Plymouth. The docks are where many of the first ships that employed dazzle camouflage were built, including HMS Implacable. The walk has been commissioned by The Dazzle Club, who explore surveillance in public places. For it, participants are asked to wrap their phone in tin foil, a flawed method of subverting location tracking systems, and a development of the 'Freewalk'.

OFFICIAL SECRETS II
As part of an ongoing project on CDE Nancekuke (once the centre of UK chemical weapons development and manufacture) with William Arnold, Official Secrets II was a site-specific casting event. Held on mine workings which were once part of the base, we discussed contemporary mythologies and I cast a cauliflower in lead. These brassica are grown on peripheral areas of the site because their shallow rooting reduces the likelihood of the inadvertent disturbance of materials from the establishment's past. This was undertaken as part of my July residency at Back Lane West.

Progress from the residency is documented on Back Lane West's Instagram during my takeover for the month. With thanks to Arts Council England.
